OTC+ North Ridgeville Collaborative

Launching Careers in Health Care Through Education and Partnership.

The OTC+ North Ridgeville Collaborative gives students the opportunity to earn their Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) credential while still in high school. Through classroom instruction, clinical training, and hands-on patient care experiences, students build the skills and confidence needed to step directly into the healthcare workforce or continue into nursing and allied health programs.

This collaborative program, offered at the LCCC Ridge Campus and O’Neill Healthcare (clinicals) North Ridgeville, combines education and workforce training so students graduate with credentials, real-world experience, and a pathway forward. 


Program Designed For: 

The collaborative is designed for students that have an interest in the medical field, mid-level clinicians: Cetertified Nurse Aid, Patient-Care Tech, License Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse and other Health Care Technicians (radiology and ultrasound, etc).

Delve into one of Ohio’s leading careers and develop hands-on experience in the health care field.

FAQs, Schedule, Enrollment, and Program Details:

  • It’s a partnership between Lorain County JVS Adult Career Center, LCCC, North Ridgeville City Schools, and O’Neill Healthcare that allows students to earn their Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) credential while in high school.

  • High school seniors, ages 16 and older, who are interested in health care and able to attend afternoon and clinical sessions. 

    Students must have their own transportation to-and-from LCCC and O’Neill Healthcare.

  • No. The program is fully funded through Ohio’s investment in career-technical education. Students will be responsible to purchase scrubs. 

    • Complete the OTC+ Interest Form to express your interest in the program with North Ridgeville City Schools

    • Await confirmation from North Ridgeville City Schools

    • Submit enrollment paperwork with North Ridgeville City Schools

    • Prepare for class — information on schedules, uniforms, and clinical expectations will be provided before the semester begins.

  • Students will need to complete the following as part of the application process:

    • Background Check (North Ridgeville High School) 
    • Physical by a Health Care Provider 
    • Semester: 2nd Semester | January 2026

    • Class Days/Times: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 3:00 – 5:30 PM

    • Clinical Experience: Two full-day sessions in April (16 hours total), scheduled in small groups

    • Locations:

      • LCCC Ridge Campus – 32121 Lorain Rd, North Ridgeville

      • O’Neill Healthcare – 38600 Center Ridge Rd, North Ridgeville

    **Students must successfully complete 90-hours of course work, combined with clinical instruction.**

  • Students will graduate with a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) credential, First Aid/CPR certification, and pre-apprenticeship completion status. Active enrollment through Lorain County Community College Bridge Program.

  • All grades and credentials earned through OTC+ are recorded directly on the student’s high school transcript, ensuring academic recognition and contributing toward graduation requirments. 

    Successfully Complete 90-Hours of Course Work, Combined with Clinical Instruction

  • Course work is faciltiated through an LCJVS instructor at Lorain County Community College (LCCC) North Ridgeville Campus, and students will be enrolled in LCCC’s Bridges To Sucess health care pathway.   • Yes! Students will complete clinical training at O’Neill Healthcare North Ridgeville and have access to LCJVS Career Services and LCCC Career Services. Successful completers may also receive a guaranteed interview with O’Neill Healthcare.
