The Adult Career Center is an accredited institution of higher education

Lorain County JVS Adult Career Center strives to collect accurate job placement data on all program completers from our Career Development programs.  LCJVS Adult Career Center calculates, and discloses, two placement rates; an Accrediting Agency Rate and a State Authorizing Agency Rate.  LCJVS Adult Career Center is an accredited institution by the Commission for the Council on Occupational Education (COE).  Accreditation is a status granted to an educational institution or program that has been found to meet or exceed stated criteria of educational quality and student achievement. Accreditation by COE is viewed as a nationally-honored seal of excellence for occupational education institutions and denotes honesty and integrity.  Our instructors are qualified practitioners in their area of instruction with real work experience in their field and are certified by the Ohio Department of Education.  LCJVS Adult Career Center is authorized in the State of Ohio by the Ohio Department of Higher Education.

Council on Occupational Education Website: Accrediting Agency Information                  

To file a complaint with the Council on Occupational Education (COE), first follow the institution’s internal grievance procedure. If unresolved, submit a signed complaint to the COE, including a description of the grievance and the steps already taken. The COE will send the complaint to the institution for a response, then provide the complainant an opportunity to comment before a commission makes a final judgment

Ohio Department of Higher Education Website : State Authorizing Agency Information

To file a complaint with the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE), you must first attempt to resolve the issue directly with the institution by following their internal complaint process. If that fails, you can submit a complaint to ODHE. The ODHE will then review the complaint, request more information if needed, and forward a copy to the institution for their response

Admission to educational programs accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) is open to students 18 years or older who hold a high school diploma or GED and are looking to enter or re-enter the workforce or start a new career. These requirements may be waived if the student is enrolling in a specially designated program such as the Adult Diploma Program (ADP) or programs designed to enhance a high school students’ credential attainment. All exceptions may require proper documentation and prior administrative approval.
